Manual Block Cutters Montolit are opening the new frontier of “GREEN TOOLS” !

July 9th, 2010 Matteo 2 comments

Every day the environment becomes more of a priority in our lives, and it is right that we, as the forefront manufacturers of construction equipment, contribute maximum effort in this direction.

In terms of ecology there is still much work for all to do. However we can demonstrate that our manual paving block cutters are already a good example of green tools - even though they were invented decades ago!!

Thanks to characteristics such as the use of simple materials, its non-polluting operation and the complete recyclability of the product, the evidence is there that fits with current topical thinking.

Here we can see these benefits in detail:

- ECOLOGY – 100% recycling of the steel materials used in the build structure
- MINIMUM CUTTING COST per METRE – very LOW compared to the use of diamond blades used in classic power tools
- SPEED – very fast and precise operation compared to using a diamond blade
IT DOESN’T NEED ANY ELECTRICITY!

Being in the mood for quotes:- our MANUAL BLOCK CUTTER can be compared to the ‘mythological Phoenix bird that can rise from the ashes’ … since they are once made NEW by hand and will definitely reach to the end of a very long long life!!

And then, in addition to being ecological, these manual paving block cutters are also very health-conscious for the operator. Today it is fashionable to cut everything with a diamond blade, but so often the Trade does not pay attention to costs in terms of personal injury due to vibration, dust and risks associated with electricity.

A manual split cutter does not generate dust or harmful vibrations and does not create ANY noise pollution against that generated by large power tools.

The only drawback – (whose designs are 110% perfect after all?) – is that it is heavy to move … but we’ve created the system of levers and pinch rollers to overcome this obstacle.

Well then? Using our Block Cutter – Why not use a little effort that is so beneficial to the environment?

Short video – Test of concrete paving block cutter art. 6R

September 8th, 2009 admin No comments

We asked a small building company that is working near our factory in Cantello, to try our new slab cutter “Revolver” art. 6R.
These layers are still working with our stone cutter art. 4 (more than 20 years old…!).
It was funny and also very useful to see these layers working and testing our new machine. In the video below you can see the layers in action!

To cut concrete paving block, comparison between manual paving block cutter and specific diamond blade

June 16th, 2009 admin No comments

Following you can find the main differences between cutting concrete paving block with specific diamond blade or a manual paving block cutter. You can directly observe these differences watching the video below.

Manual paving block cutter

Advantages:

The machine works without electric power

The cut is very fast

The cut doesn’t produce dust or noise

The price for each metre of cut materials is very low.

The machine is not dangerous

Environmently friendly

Very long life of the machine (30 years at least)

Disadvantages:

The cut can only be linear

The machine is heavy

The cutting line is exact on the visible surface of the block cutter but not inside the block.

Grinding machine + specific diamond blades

Advantages:

It is possible to make cuts with “L” or “V” features.

The cutting surface is accurate also inside the paving block

The cutting surface is smooth.

You can use the Grinding machine + specific diamond blades for others materials

Easy to move

Disadvantages:

The machine needs electric power. The electric power isn’t always available on the road and it is an additional cost.

The necessary time to cut the concrete paving block with a grinder is 3 o 4 times longer than the manual paving bock cutter.

The cut produces dust and high levels of noise

The consumption of diamond blades o these abrasive materials (concrete) is very high. It means a high cost for metre.

Also in this case, how you can see on the video below, in order to choose between using split cutter or specific diamond blades to cut concrete paving block depends on the type of work and the situation (it is necessary to take in consideration: type of concrete block, type of cut –linear, “L”, “V” shape, availability of electric power, cost per metre etc).
Analyzing the comparison of the machines, we can advise that for an professional use (large quantities of concrete paving block to cut), the slab cutter is the best solution. The grinder + specific diamond blade is necessary only for particular cuts (corners for example needs cuts with “L” or “V” shapes).

Since 1970, Brevetti Montolit S.p.A has been project, producing and sell worldwide the best paving block cutters for concrete paving block and related materials.
These split cutters for concrete are well know and used by from professional paving layers.
In order to complete the landscape layers tools range, Brevetti Montolit S.p.A supply a wide range of specific diamond blades.
